August 17-23, 2003
Our 2003 Spiritual Enrichment Program at Camp Mattatuck in Connecticut has been quite a success. Our teens and children have enjoyed a rich and rewarding week of fellowship, worship, activities, sports and music, and several of them have committed their lives to the Lord, accepting Jesus as their personal Savior. Activites included: Archery, Arts & Crafts, Canoeing, Chapel, COPE, Dance, Flag Football, Kickball, Riflery, Soccer, Swimming, Volleyball, & Worship. We hope you will join us next year!
Here are some comments Steve Botha, camp director, shared:
God is very good! We were truly blessed at SEP-CT. I believe everyone sensed the presence of the Holy Spirit, and our Lord Jesus was central to all that we did.
We had a record number of campers for recent years: 96, with 64 being teens. The weather was gorgeous, which was a blessing considering the winter and summer this year. It was a bit of a scramble to get some last-minute things done because of the blackout, but it all came together well. There were 56 volunteer staff members. We use a Boy Scout camp and one of the Boy Scouts stayed on as a volunteer because he so enjoyed working with our people. Fifteen young people made a decision to accept Christ as their Savior and six were baptized. We were meticulous in following the protocol of including parents and pastors in the process.
We fared very well with both the health department and the state inspection. Both inspectors highly commended us for our level of professionalism and care. We thank our heavenly Father for such a meaningful and blessed experience.
