As Jesus was praying, a crowd did appear
Waiving swords and clubs in the night air.
Filled with an anger spurred on by hate,
Fulfilling what was written, death was His fate.
Brought before the officials, falsely accused by them,
The destiny of this Lamb born in Bethlehem.
Jesus was then tried and sentenced to death,
To be cruelly crucified until His last breath.
Then stripped and scourged like a common thief,
His mother and disciples witnessed to His grief.
Now carrying a cross, through streets He's lead,
Bruised and lacerated, blood flowing from His head.
On the mount where He will die,
Nailed to the cross for you and I,
After much suffering He breathed His last breath,
Gaining salvation for us by His sorrowful death.
He descended to hell then He was raised,
Joining His Father where forever He'll be praised.
He gave His life to set mankind free,
some day in heaven with Him we'll be.
Jesus is the Redeemer, our ransom He paid.
Of sin's deadly pain we're no longer afraid.
Jesus did the suffering so we may live,
He became man for His life to give.
