I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart. (Jeremiah 24:7)
Jesus taught that life’s meaning is not to be found in possessions. Most of us have lived long enough to realize that "things" do not bring happiness. There are lots of happy people who live in two room houses, and sad people who lived in castles. Where does life find its deepest meaning? I believe the answer lies in one word – relationships. First is a relationship with God, then family, friends, and others.
It is the friend’s part of relationship that brought us together to share our love for Jesus Christ on March 15, 2003. I was so excited about being with so many ladies from various walks of life, backgrounds, religions, and ethnicities and I know that they were too! This fellowship time presented us with the awesome opportunity to rediscover that our deepest joy is found not in possessions, titles, or "things," but in a relationship with the One whose image is deeply imprinted on the human soul. His Spirit touched our spirit individually as we realized that our fellowship time, hymns of love and inspiration, as well as our prayers to God were reenergizing our relationship with God and greatly enhancing the potential for our relationship with others we know little about. Because God loves us, He has given us the "rules" so to speak for the game of life. His prohibitions keep us from abusing others and His admonitions show us how to enhance relationships. From God we learn justice, love, mercy, forgiveness, and grace. No one has more potential for extraordinary human relationships than the Christian who walks in fellowship with God.
Our Women’s Ministry is sincerely thankful to the Lord and to all of the participants who attended this event. We pray that everyone may have been able to leave with a renewed "spark" for God to take control of our life, and the realization that each of us, distinct in many ways, still loves the same Father, worships the same Creator, and gives her life over to Him to be used in His way each and every day.
May God’s grace rule and abide in you daily,
Felisa Spearman
